BB Cream

What is BB Cream and why are Asian women and now everyone else crazy about it?

BB cream, also known as Blemish Balm, Blemish Base or Beblesh Balm, is a cosmetic item sold mainly in East and Southeast Asia. Originally formulated in Germany by Dr. med. Christine Schrammek in 1967 it was initially used by dermatologists to help laser surgery patients protect, soothe and refine highly sensitive skin while providing light coverage for post-laser scars, acne and other blemishes. Although BB cream was not specifically created for the Asian market, it provided a solution to a common skin problem for many Asians: impure skin. The cream eventually found its way into a broad mainstream market when Korean actresses recommended it publicly. BB creams come in a variety of different formulations and qualities mainly perceived as being anti-inflammatory, regenerative and having a soothing effect. Some are said to have skin whitening or brightening properties. Others are said to be anti-acne or anti-wrinkle, some are intended to even out skin tone, and yet others to lighten blemish scars. BB creams are sometimes used like a primer under foundation, and if tinted may supposedly replace foundation and some newer ones are advertised as having functions of primer, foundation, moisturizer, sun block, pore minimization and skin refining together, making them an economic skin care solution.

Brands on the market aside others include BRTC - Bio Remedies Therapeutic Cosmetic, Dr. Jart, Lioele, Skin Food,Etude, The Face Shop, Missha and SKIN79.
In recent years BB cream has gained a noticeable following for its skin-regenerating functions and is now also widely used in Asia to supposedly provide natural-looking skin coverage. It has been named "the secret of Korean actresses", which gained it large exposure in Asian markets and now working it’s way to the US markets. (via Wikipedia)

Loving is not how you forget, not how you listen but how you understand. Not what you see, but what you feel. Not how to let go, but how to hold on. ~Rae Elise

Beautiful Bride: Tiffany

My Xtreme Lashes Eyelash Extensions!

When I was contacted by Latoya owner of Eye Deux to try a set of lash extensions at first I must admit I was a little hesitant and nervous to say the least. I've never had anything done to my lashes before so after a little thinking and some curiosity I decided to go through with the idea. I can say without a doubt that this experience was so worth it and after actually looking at my before and after images what can I say but that I'm in love with my new Xtreme Lashes!

Take a look at the before and after...

Before.
Right Eye done only.
Before.
After.They look natural.
So what do you think?

The process may have took 90 minutes but it was so relaxing (the room set up) and so worth it.
To get a better idea about how this procedure is done you MUST watch this short video. HERE

Good Skin = Great Canvas

Hi everyone! So, after a few request. I decided to show you some of my favorite facial products. I give myself a good at home facial every Sunday evening which makes for a great face for the week and a prefect canvas for makeup application.

Here is the list....

Products I Use On My Hair.

I've been getting a few emails requesting I do a post on what products I use to maintain my big hair. Well here you have it.

  • Biolage Deep Smoothing Shampoo & Conditioner (wash hair every other day)
  • Corioliss leave in Protection mist (when I wear my hair out)
  • Samy under control molding wax (when I wear my hair pulled back)
  • Wooden paddle brush (use while combing tangled hair in the shower with conditioner in)
  • Wooden stiff brush (use when combing hair back in a ponytail, the wax will help it lay down flat)

Very simple, hope this helps. :-)

Happy Client: Ravneet

I'm excited to share these images with you of my client, Ravneet. I had the pleasure of doing her makeup and hair for her daughters first birthday party. I'm glad I was able to play a small part in making her feel even more beautiful. Thank you Ravneet!

Wardrobe Staple: The Trench Coat

When you've got a great trench on, what's underneath isn't so important. I scored this vintage Etienne Aigner trench over a year ago but just getting around to wearing it, lost in time.

With Everything.

With everything. It adds the glam factor to jeans, evening gowns, dresses, etc. There is nothing that fur does not play well with.

Moto & Ikat Maxi

The motorcycle jacket will always be the jacket of choice for the absolutely stylish. Every model, actress, and musician has her old faithful version to throw on when she feels the cool factor.
I surely had this coat in my shop figuring a large just didn't suit me well but I grabbed it from the stock this day because it was roomy enough for the layers I had undergo. You could imagine the layers with maxi dress. hehehe

Hope everyone had a warm weekend! :-)
